Hi All,

It was a fun filled and meaningful night. We had 12 members present and four guests. One of the guests was Sue Taylor, who was later voted in as our even NEWEST MEMBER. Yes, we have two new members this month.

Vicki Willard acted as our Sergeant of Ams and President tonight and welcomed us.

Paul Johnson was our Toastmaster tonight. We were artfully informed about the principle of A.S.K. “We can do great things if we are not afraid to ask.” Paul masterfully lead us through an action-packed meeting.

Our speakers presented the following:
Bill Kovach spoke to us as training attendees on break. His speech entitled “The GAP – the gap between sales and marketing and three easy ways to cure it,” taught us just that. We learned the importance of communication between the marketing and sales departments of companies, to avoid wastes in spending and attain their goals. Most importantly, Bill ended ON TIME!

Sue Taylor spoke to us on the gift in the mist of the storm. She had us mesmerized as she told the story of moving from a fairy tale life to a life of “storm.” Her message was, “It’s not what happens, it’s what you do about it to move out of the storm.” It’s obvious she has learned from her experiences, as did we tonight.

Jon Schwartz (not Vinny) took us from getting into heaven to the horse races. We were well entertained and laughing as we learned that it’s the results that matter. And the most important result is that you’re happy in your life.

The food . . . or shall we say the chips and dip were good.

Our evaluations were superb.

Vicki displayed our new “Distinguished Club of 2007″ award. Congratulations Club!!!

Bill Hoskins passed around his new Membership Requirements form for our appreciation and approval.

We were busy and ended 10 minutes late.

Next week’s meeting will be at the Sandy Springs library. We will have no meeting on Labor Day, Sept. 3.

Don’t forget our web site. Check it out: Toastmasters Atlanta

The biannual dues still due. Please bring a check made out to Speakers Roundtable for $45 to the meeting or mail one to me.

Till next week.

Best Regards,
Deborah Hill, Secretary

Hi All,

What FANTASTIC meeting. We had 14 present, including our two guests. One of the guests was Donna Satchell, who was later voted in as our NEWEST MEMBER.

Keith Schroder opened the meeting and Pat Schmalzried welcomed us.
Steve Cohn was our Toastmaster tonight. He reminded us that today was the first day of school in the area. We were treated to informative and fun quotes about school throughout the evening. What a masterful Toastmaster he was.

Our speakers presented the following:
Paul Johnson went from being slouched over in the ER from appendix pain, to discussing how to achieve your goals without trauma, and back again. He wowed us with adept humor and words of wisdom, such as “Connect the personal goals of the employees with the plans of the company.”

Keith Schroder had us riveted with his speech about Camp Sunshine. We learned that our problems are small and joy is to be had at all times. And, we all want a bracelet. (You’ll have to ask Keith about it, if you weren’t there.).

Donna Satchell gave a tremendous audition speech about moving past obstacles on the way to your goals. There ain’t no mountain high enough. Ain’t no valley low enough. Ain’t no river wide enough to keep us from getting to our dreams. She even had the music to back it up. How exciting it all was.

The food was overflowing tonight, with home baked cookies, Mexican dip, cheese, . . .

Our evaluations were instructive and insightful.

We had so much fun we ended 15 minutes late.

Next week’s meeting will be at the Sandy Springs library.

We have a web site. Check it out: www.toastmastersatlanta.com

The biannual dues are now coming due. Please bring a check made out to Speakers Roundtable for $45 to the meeting or mail one to me.

Till next week.
