Newsletter for 9-24-7 Meeting

Hello from the Secretary,

What a great night at the Hill-Flach residence.

We had 16 present - 13 members and 3 guests.

Keith Schroeder opened the meeting and lead us in the Pledge. Pat Schmalzried welcomed us.

Peter Gibson did an wonderful job as Toastmaster tonight. He wowed us with stories and information about and with words; the power of words. We heard poems and learned about the origination of the marathon. A fun, interesting and well organized meeting.

Vicki Willard, as our GE tonight, announced her candidacy for the Sandy Springs City Council. Her announcement was authenticated by her on-sight photographer.

Our speakers presented the following:
Claudia Brogan spoke to us about the amazing world of words through an array of stories, experiences and acronyms. Her acting out of a couple of teenage girls at the mall was hilarious and mind boggling.

Keith Schroeder gave an entertaining and informative speech on the book, “How to Become a Rainmaker.” We learned tips on how to bring the “rain” to our companies and businesses, through excerpts from the book and Keith’s entertaining stories.

Dave Flach spoke to us about how to receive a compliment. His speech was jam packed (not jelly) with stories, examples and information from notable sources. He had us laughing out loud and now saying, “Thank you.”

The break was filled with good food and camaraderie.

We will meet next week at:
First Baptist Church Sandy Springs
650 Mount Vernon Highway NE
Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328

Enter from Mt. Vernon, just east of Glenridge (on the corner of Glenridge and Mt. Vernon).

All for now,
Deborah
