Another rainy night, plus traffic jam problems probably led to our low attendance this evening.  It’s that, along with some illness and a work conflict, or maybe it is the time of year, planning and preparing for all the holidays, the shopping, the parties, the extra work at work and home.  Or maybe interest in our club is waning.  Whatever the reasons, meetings with a well prepared Toast Master and three well delivered speeches deserve better attendance than they received last night.  With 30 club members we can do better.

Tom Nixon put together a complete program of three speakers.  Cindy Cannon spoke for 5 to 7 minutes on Insider Secrets To Interviewing. This was speech # 4, Vocal Variety, from the Competent Communicator Manual.  Speaker # 2, Merrilee Morris, gave a dramatic talk from the Entertaining Speaker Manual called There’s a Monster” with a time of 6 to 8 minutes.  Our final speaker, Richard Kirby, also spoke for 6 to 8 minutes doing speech #3 from the Competent Communicator Manual.  He titled his speech “Pick Your Career, Not Your Nose.”

In addition to speaking, Cindy Cannon was General Evaluator.  Keith Schroder was Camera Person as well as Grammarian for the evening.  Merrilee Morris served as timer with speaker Richard Kirby timing her speech and Toast Master Nixon timing her evaluation.

We enjoyed a six minute break and visiting with our repeat guest, Mimi Williamson.  Mimi had visited us twice at “The Church.”

The meeting adjourned two minutes early.
